December 8
(Advent II):

Music for the day:

Processional: 9 "Hark, a thrilling voice is sounding" (Merton)
Sequence: 6, v. 4-5
Offertory: 5 "Lo, he comes with clouds descending" (Helmsley)
Recessional: 2 "O come, O come Emmanuel," v. 3-4 (Veni Emmanuel)
Organ voluntary: Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland (J. S. Bach)

Lessons for the day are from the Revised Standard version of the bible.

We will have Aaron (our regular organist) back, and continue to get used to the new missal.

For those of you interested in religious and liturgical blogs, Fr. John Hunwicke is blogging again.  If you have not read him, I recommend it.  The man is a master wordsmith, and accomplished linguist and liturgist.

I should also mention what a great experience it was to manifest full unity with the Catholic diocese of Rochester last night at the Vocations mass.  Special thanks go to David Fiorito, who organized the event.

More reactions to the newly revised missal for the Ordinariates continue to roll in.  Have a look at William Oddie's report in the Catholic Herald for a good example.
