I was pleasantly surprised to see that the St. Alban site was listed on recommended Ordinariate related websites and blogs on this month's Australia-wide newsletter.  They do a nice job, and there is interesting news there.


Msgr. Entwistle, the Ordinary there, gave an interesting quote from the Vatican's Msgr. Lopes about our rite of mass:

"The Mass is not an English version of the Tridentine Rite; in fact some of it is taken from the Prayer Book of 1549 which pre-dates the Tridentine Mass. The Ordinariate Mass is a stand aloneform of the Roman Mass of the Latin Rite Catholic Church."

While our mass is often compared to the Tridentide Mass (since it bears a close similarity to it), it is indeed worthwhile remembering the 1549 BCP is older that it, and many elements of the even older, Catholic, Sarum Use survive through it.
