Good Shepherd church, Henrietta

The Fellowship of St. Alban now has a local church home.

A very hearty "thank you" goes out to the diocesan chancellery, especially Fr. Daniel Condon, as well as the staff of the parish of Blessed Marianne Cope: Barbara Swiecki, Kathy Steiner, and the rest for their help and welcome.

Good Shepherd has an interesting history.  The original church (pictured right) has a capacity of about 240, and was outgrown by Catholics living in Henrietta.  They subsequently built a school with a large chapel that has a capacity of over 600.  The main Sunday masses are held in the chapel, so the old church is now active for a couple of week day masses and special occasions.  The church itself is lovely and well suited for our group.

Starting this Sunday (10/7/12), the Fellowship will be meeting in Good Shepherd church at 3pm for Evensong - until John Cornelius's ordination, when we can then celebrate mass according to the Anglican Use.
