Lessons and Carols & Magnify the Lord

IMG_9525 Several members of the Fellowship - including our regular acolytes and Deacon Cornelius - participated in a very beautiful service of Advent Lessons and Carols, held at St. Thomas the Apostle church in Irondequoit.  We wish to thank the organizers - especially D.J. - for inviting us to participate.  The service had everything we hope the Ordinariate will develop into.  It presented a very nice synthesis of the English tradition of the Lessons and the Carols we love so dearly, accompanied by organ, as well as the Latin tradition of A Capella Gregorian chant.  Fr. Lioi, a friend of our group, presided over the service.  We had the chance to meet and socialize with a number of diocesan Catholics.  Photos are linked from our dedicated page.

Deacon Cornelius's second Magnify the Lord radio segment can be downloaded here, or listened to directly below.

Deacon Cornelius links the slaughter of the Holy Innocents with the recent tragedy in Connecticut in a meditation on evil and God's answer to evil in the world.  He preaches on God's redemptive plan for man in the context of Advent - and the role of John the Baptist.
