Dear St. Albanites,

Here is our new “St. Alban’s Altar Cross”! The picture does not do it justice! We will try to put together a 10” stand for it and it will sit in the middle of the altar as a center to our worship. We will also be working on a reredos to place behind the altar.

Our schedule for the Christmas Holy Day season is filling up. In addition to our usual Sunday Evensong service, we have:

+ December 14th: Lessons and Carols at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Irondeqoit. Arrive at 6pm for meeting and preparation.  Service begins at 7pm.  The program for the service is linked here.

+ December 16th: Gaudete Sunday.  Off to the Great White North for Mass with the Torontoians!  Their Anglican Use mass begins at 1:45pm at Sacré-Coeur Church, 381 Sherbourne St., Toronto, Canada.  We will not have Evensong that Sunday.  Some members of the Oshawa Anglican Use group intend to join us as a greater Lake Ontario get together.

+ January 6th: Our very own first Epiphany Lessons and Carols. Next year this will be traditional.

All are welcome to come to any of these. ! If you have trouble driving we will work something out. To be discussed this Sunday.

Made by a small group of Christian families in the Holy Land this cross is one of many displayed at the Anglican Use Conference.  It is made of olive wood (of course!) I got a heck of a discount because the top piece had broken off. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it and found it repaired! I will bring a pamphlet discussing the how and why of this ministry when next we meet.
